Sararia Family Tree Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains what data Sararia Family Tree handles and where it goes. In short: each family tree is private, visible only to the people invited to it, and never sold or used for ads.

Account data

You sign in with Google through Neon Auth. Sararia Family Tree stores your name, email address, and the session that keeps you signed in.

Family tree data and photos

Names, dates, relationships, notes, invitations, and the change history of each tree are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon. Member photos are compressed in the browser before upload, stored privately in Cloudflare R2 without public URLs, and served only after checking that the signed-in user is a member of that tree.

Names, dates, photos, and notes are entered by the members of each tree, not by Sararia. The tree's owner is responsible for who is invited.

Sample tree and trial mode

The sample family at /example and the interactive trial at /demo work without signing in. In /demo, changes run in an in-browser database on your device and are cleared when you close the page.

Rights of people recorded

Under Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP No. 27/2022), if you are recorded in a family tree and want your data corrected or removed, contact that tree's owner first. If that does not work, write to the address on the contact page with the name of the tree and we will follow up.

What Sararia Family Tree does not do

  • No public family tree pages.
  • No ads, no selling or sharing of data.

Deleting your data

A tree's owner can permanently delete the entire tree—including all people, relationships, photos, invitations, and history—from the tree's Settings page. To delete your account, write to the address on the contact page.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Questions can be sent to the address on the contact page.
